A: As a successful and growing company, hundreds of graduates across the globe will join our business this year. We currently have openings across our organization, but particularly need people who can contribute to our Sales, News, Programming and Data departments.
Q: When is the deadline for applications?
A: Our recruitment is on-going and there are start dates throughout the year.
Q: Is there a limit to the number of roles I can apply for?
A: You can apply for any number of opportunities, but we advise you to focus on those that best match your abilities and skills.
Q: Do you have minimum educational requirements?
A: We'll consider your application whatever your educational background. Your personal attributes are as important to us as your qualifications.
Q: Do I have to be a Finance or Business graduate to apply?
A: No, not at all. We recruit from all backgrounds. All we ask is that you're eager to work with us and learn about the financial markets.
Q: I work outside the finance industry, would you be interested in my application?
A: Absolutely, we're eager to meet people with experience at all levels who can bring different perspectives and ideas to our company.
Q: What is the recruitment process?
A: At Bloomberg, we recruit differently than most companies. We want to know the real you, not just the facts listed on a sheet or two of paper. So, once a department manager has reviewed your resume, and checked you have the essential requirements, you'll be invited to one of our recruitment events or a panel interview. Then it's up to you to make a great impression.
Q: Will there be training and development opportunities in my new role?
A: From the start, you'll have all the training you need for a successful career with us. You'll learn about the BLOOMBERG PROFESSIONAL® service and the financial markets, and develop the skills you need to flourish here. Through Bloomberg University, you'll also be able to access additional instructor-led and self-study courses as well as special training events.
Q: Will there be opportunities for career progression?
A: There are no set career paths. That's because we believe people make the most of their potential when they're free to move in the direction that suits them best. Within a short period, you could be a team leader in your department or managing a large client. You just have to prove you're ready for that step up.
Q: Are there opportunities to pursue external study/qualifications?
A: If your course will aid your career development, you should be able to gain a subsidy from us on the approval of your department manager.
Q: Where will I be based?
A: We have offices across the globe in more than 126 countries, but most of our entry-level openings are in New York, London, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Tokyo.
Q: Will I be able to use my language skills?
A: Knowledge of more than one language is preferred but not essential. The international nature of our business and our commitment to diversity mean you'll be in frequent contact with clients and colleagues around the world who speak different languages.
Q: Will there be an opportunity to travel?
A: It depends which area of the business you apply to. Our sales teams travel around the world to start and develop client relationships, maintain the highest level of service and sustain our market lead. In other areas of our business, travel is less frequent, but you will have daily contact with colleagues and clients all over the world.
